What the FF Error Means on LG Refrigerators
FF = Freezer Fan error. The control board detected the fan is not spinning at the correct speed.
In the vast majority of cases, this is caused by ice buildup on the evaporator coils, not a failed motor. The fix is to defrost the freezer.
Step 1: Manual Defrost (First Try This)
In many cases, the FF error clears after this and the fan runs normally. If so, investigate why the defrost system stopped working — you may need to replace a defrost heater, defrost thermostat, or the main control board's defrost timer function.
